Inês Tique was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1971.

Tique is characterized by large scale paintings. She uses different types of materials: acrylic, oil, ink, charcoal, wax, clay, canvas, wood, velvet, fabrics and photography. Her paintings often combine abstract expressionism and action painting.

She likes to think of her artwork as vulnerable yet confrontational in an action-provoking sense. Running counter to her perfectionist tendencies Tique embraces mistakes and imperfections through a free and intuitive process of representation.
