She is interested in the circle of life, in energy, movement, authentic inter-cultural connections and the coexistence of humans, nature and the universe.
Inês Tique was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1971.
Tique is characterized by large scale paintings. She uses different types of materials: acrylic, oil, ink, charcoal, wax, clay, canvas, wood, velvet, fabrics and photography. Her paintings often combine abstract expressionism and action painting.
She likes to think of her artwork as vulnerable yet confrontational in an action-provoking sense. Running counter to her perfectionist tendencies Tique embraces mistakes and imperfections through a free and intuitive process of representation.
